Greetings WSBCC Members:
I hope you and yours are having a joyful and safe holiday season !!! Today is the 3rd day of the annual Kwanzaa celebration. The principle focus is intended to be "Ujima" an African word implying collective work and responsibility. "To team together to solve problems and to make our community a safe and productive place".
I am happy to share to of our WSBCC members Gloria Hairston and Gerry McCants will be speaking tomorrow 12/29/2019 at 6:30 at the NAACP Building in Winston Salem to celebrate the "Ujamaa" principle-to build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and profit from them together. Please make time to attend if you can.
I am also happy to welcome two new members to our WSBCC Board, Dr. Tony Burton and Rev. Stuart Eaton. They bring a wealth of passion, experience and commitment to the team and we are grateful for their willingness to be of service. I am also happy to welcome our newest member Eleanor Collins, owner of Sustaining Hands Home Care LLC.
As 2019 ends, I look back on some significant achievements and progress we as a WSBCC team have made. Among them; a new website that has a directory of members, current and past events, and names of some of our partners who help us deliver value to you as paid members. I encourage you to visit the website often to stay aware of events, our calendar, and training opportunities. The website is www.wsbcc.org.

We (the WSBCC Board) are looking for two additional Board members. If you are interested or want more information about the opportunity contact me or Cynthia Jeffries so we can follow up with you about the process.
We are in the process of planning an even more successful 2020. I will be contacting each of you by email and phone to get your thoughts on how we can better serve you, what types of programs you are interested in participating in, and how we can help you be more successful as a business owner or operator.
Finally, moving forward I am going to provide some information that I hope will be supportive in you being efficient, effective and profitable in what you do. {CLICK HERE} I am mindful that we have a diverse group of members regarding products, services offered, size of the organization and what your specific challenges may be. However, hopeful the additional info will help you in some way.
Please feel free to let me have any specific suggestions or feedback you have regarding how the WSBCC can better serve you !!!
Sincerely,
Calvin
